The Ariane-5 into orbit two new satellites
The fifth launch of an Ariane-5 so far this year successfully placed two telecommunications satellites in their orbits interim, said in a statement the company Arianespace, the release managers.
The Japanese telecommunications satellite Superbird-7 and the U.S. AMC-21 were placed into orbit from the Kourou space European base in French Guiana by an Ariane-5 rocket.
Japan’s Superbird-7, developed by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, will be used by the Space Communications Corporation of Tokyo as a successor to the Superbird-C, and offer service with 28-band repeaters “Ku” for mobile telephony, cable and connections Direct TV for the entire Asia-Pacific region.
The life of Superbird-7, which was taking off weight of 4,820 kilos, is 15 years and its importance in orbit will reach 31.6 meters.
Built by Thales Alenia Space, the U.S. AMC-21 satellite, SES AMERICOM operator, will provide broadband service “Ku”, with 24 relays, the U.S., the Gulf of Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
